Shingle and Re-tired

I have some interesting people on my route. I guess in some way or another everybody is interesting. To somebody. Anyway, as has been my practice in the past I'm going to show you a picture of somebody's house. The interesting somebodys that live at this particular house are artists...can you tell?? Check out the shingle work!
(Look closely at the roof. It's made out of tires. Yes. Real tires.)

that is really cool.

re-cycled tires for a roof ... and a satalite dish ... somehow, that seems like an oxymoron! :)

Interesting...

What exactly is that gargoyle/skeleton thingy over the garage? I'm trying to decide whether it scares me or not.

wow..that shingle work is amazing. I had to click on these to check them out more closely.

Are there evil spirits lurking around this house, 'cause I'm with Cheryl on the creepy-toothed guy at the helm and the carved faces in the entry way. I bet that the owners are very interesting people with a unique perspective on the world. How fun!

Yeah the gargoyle thing is creepy. And on the roof just out of sight in this pic? Something that looks like the amputated leg of a flying prehistoric dinosaur...as if it were ripped off in flight and landed on their roof. Did I mention these people were 'interesting'? Sort of an understatement :)

Eeew. I had a friend who was a fairly well-known artist. Nicest, gentlest guy ever. Not too eccentric on the surface. And his home was full of gargoyle things and tortured faces--I always wondered where that stuff came from.
