If I could, I'd tell you...

...how thoughts get into my head.
...how difficult it is to portray an emotion in words.
...why there's a heaven at all.
...why some things are only funny once.
...that tomorrow's going to be alright.
...that I have no idea what pain is.
...why coffee smells so much better than it tastes.
...what you're thinking.
...I've given my heart away completely.
...there's something green on your front tooth.
...that I've actually heard God speak.
...how to erase the mistakes you've made.
...why I'm still up at this ungodly hour.
...how much I miss those three little j's.
...what I know for sure about love.
...why you never see birds crash.
...there's an easier way than God's way.
...I've never failed you.
...why I was so blessed as to be born in this country.
...how much I love my friends
...why we complicate things so terribly much...

...but, I can't, so maybe you can help me.

John, You are once again proven a good man. I count the years of friendship and miles of journey worth it the blisters. If I could tell you....I'd say Thank You. Your dignity shines bright in my world. Your words in the foggy gray of the morning are strong even though they may have felt otherwise as you typed.

Hey little brother,

Remember the "things I hate / things I love" stuff from a couple months ago? I wancha ta dew sumpn. Sumpn you're really good at: creating a smile and laughter. Between all the dot to dots and great thoughts you've written here, I immediately sense the heaviness of late night, what the hell is going on thoughts here. Like you're prepping to write a thesis even though you'd just as soon write a comedy. So....for the FUN of it go through the one liners and come up with a phrase, a continuation, a juxtaposition to that one line that has humor and light-heartedness woven through it. With the intensity of the circumstances around you and the demand to be a level-headed person, throw off the cloak and make yourself laugh. It's good medicine. :-)

Yeah I know, somebody needs to just walk up and smack me up side the head.
Maybe I should head back to the pool at the hotel...nah. Smackin' up side the head is different than gettin' your ass kicked isn't it??
