When silence
comes a' calling
from someone
who once cared

Her silence
is appalling
your heart
for once dared

When silence
it is falling
it's something
best unshared

When silence
comes a' calling
pretend like
you're not there

I understand.

I've been there, too.

You articulated that place very well.

John, Ouch, I guess and I'm sorry. No idea about your back story and the inspiration....but I read with memories of your heart and friendship.

For me, if I can get quiet enough and place my fear on hold, there can be sound in the silence. Whispers of wisdom. Offers of opportunities. Grace usually makes her appearance...and I take her hand if I can.

Ouch. Silence from those we love is so hard to take. There's that "universal" again. I feel you.

I like what Mark said. We can often find answers in the silence...and though they aren't always what we'd like, sometimes it is a blessing in disguise.

Still, I read your pain in those words...and I'm sorry. It always amazes me how people are oblivious to the damage done by their words - or the lack thereof.

I hope you are doing all right.
